Do you have a bad back? Do your knees bother you when you bend? Do you get dizzy when you stand from a kneeling position due to blood pressure problems or other health related problems? We could go on for a while with many questions about problems not only the elderly but also many young people have that could affect their enjoyment when working with plants or gardening. Using the traditional planting methods of planting or container gardening can greatly aggravate many medical conditions. For those that really love to garden, this can be a serious turn-off to keeping a garden.

Traditional container gardening requires you to bend or kneel to do the real planting or to tend your plants in their container. Planting a garden in the normal way also requires you to bend or to sit directly on the ground to work around your plants or vegetables. Using a device such as an upside down plant pot or as they are now known, Down Under Pots, can help you avoid many of they problems of bending or winding up in a position that might aggravate any health problems that you may have. When using the down under pot, you can hang them at any level you like that is comfortable for you. By hanging them at a comfortable level, you reduce your chances of feeling pain from bending.

This is a great benefit for anyone with medical restrictions or blood pressure related problems such as feeling dizzy from changing positions rapidly. One more great benefit is that people with severe back problems do not need to bend to work with their plants. Weeding becomes easy. Watering which needs to be done on a very regular basis and is critical to the health and welfare of your plants is nearly effortless when using an upside down pot. All you need to do is walk up to the pot and water your plants without any need to bend or stoop down. Using a down under pot is not just beneficial to your problems with health related issues but it is also a unique new look in container gardening

Down Under Pots can be a dual-purpose pot in the respect that once you have your plant established to the point of being rooted solid enough so you can turn the pot over and hang it as it is intended to hang. You can then use what now becomes the upper opening of the plant pot as a place to plant a useful plant like herbs to use in your everyday cooking.

Promotion

Guest post written by Rolf Tate

Lately I’ve been worried about starting my new job. Even though I have worked extremely hard with this company I did not think a promotion would come as quickly as it did. Once I was called into my boss’s office I assumed I might have done something wrong and the next thing I know he is telling me that I’m getting a promotion and the company is going to want me to move. A promotion was great news to both me and my wife but I know we were both a little bummed out that we were going to have to make a move. A friend of mine in the office recently sent me an email giving me some advice about the moving process. The best piece of advice he gave me was switching my basic cable provider to satellite TV and referred me to Satellite 911 deals Now at least I know one thing will be for sure when I end up making my move.

New England U

Post contributed by Leonard Phelps

I am a professor in Biddeford, Maine. I have always loved being around university towns. There is something that is always young, cultural, and fresh about living in a university town. Usually, there is good music, great food, and worldly theatre performances. I have lived in college towns since I graduated high school. I liked them so much that I decided to get a doctorate so that I could live in one forever. When August roles around, and classes are about to start the scene at the University of New England is the same as it across all college campuses. The dorms are buzzing with new students, parents, and Biddeford Directv by expertsatellite installation trucks. Each new student is getting ready to start the journey of adulthood. It always amazes me how young the freshman look. I am also amazed by how the student age in the short four (or five) years they spend in college. If you loved college, I suggest visiting ( or moving) to a college town! They are the best places to live in the world!

Testing Gutenblog

If you're reading this, it's because my test of Gutenblog has worked. It looks like a sort of Friendfeed or Posterous replacement, and I'm anxious to see how it works out.

Tap Tap

I once wrote a poem about kitchen faucets . It was called Dripping, Tripping, Slipping. I had a lot of fun with it. When we started construction on our home, we had to think about faucets for the first time ever. One faucet is definitely not like another. We ended up with the ones that have a pull out shower head attachment – and we've actually used it.

Handmade With Care

I don't think I own a single piece of handcrafted jewelry , though I have bought plenty of pieces as gifts for my mother, sister and girlfriends. I like the fact that each piece is unique and special and the materials chosen are often very different from those used for regular jewelry. It's amazing how good a bracelet made of seeds can look with a little bit of care.

Mesothelioma Mystery

I first heard of mesothelioma some years ago and I had no idea what it was. All I knew was that someone thought they could make a lot of money by writing posts about it. I said good luck to them and left them to it, moving on to do other things with my own blog. Now here I am with this health related assignment. Ironic, isn't it?

Candle Story

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who loved to play with candles . But she didn't realise that the flame could burn her. One day she held her fingers a bit too close to the flame and she burnt herself. Luckily her fairy godmother saved the day. Her fingers shrunk because she didn't listen to her mother. Then her fairy godmother waved her wand and put the girl's fingers back.
